Highlights

I'm at my Dad's with my best friend Annika.
We've been here since Friday night
and so far, it's been a party.

Friday night it was a clear night so we sat on the tramp
and looked at the stars.
Then Gifford, the lamb, bahahaed and scared Annika out of her wits.
She thought it was a man.
She freaked
 It was absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

On Saturday, after the grand tour, I drove Annika and Brock up to where dad was branding.
They hadn't started yet so we climbed some rocks and talked for a bit.
Then we followed a dry riverbed
and tried to climb the straight up and down 12 foot sides...
yeah, we failed miserably.
Annika helped Brock up,which left us at the bottom racing to get to the top first.
Annika got caught on some sage brush roots and fell a couple of feet off the sandy wall and into a small puddle of water.
We all walked back covered from head to toe in dirt, twigs, mud, and even a little blood.
It was great fun.

Today in Sunday school
our teacher randomly burst into song...
The first thing to come to mind was 'Oh crap!' cuz I knew I was gonna laugh.
She was singing about pride, the lyrics were good, her voice was... okay, and she seriously thought she was good,
but the entire situation... I was completely caught off guard.
I was trying extremely hard not to laugh.
Our teacher just kept on singing, for at least 3 minutes.
Bailey had a straight emotionless face on, the 7 other kids in our class were dead serious,
Annika was holding back a laugh.
Once, I peeked at Annika, but had to look away because I felt myself losing what little control I had.
All of a sudden Annika glanced at me then lost it
she burst into laughter... loud.
The teacher stopped singing, Annika left the room still laughing, and I lost it..
Everybody else was silent.
The teacher was surprisingly ok with Annika's outburst, she began to tell us her embarrassing stories.
I don't know how, but about 5 min. later Annika came back.
I wouldn't have come back.
I would have been mortified.
As it was, I felt so bad. Mostly for Annika though.
It was definitely a moment I will never forget, never let her live down either :)

Fantabulous!!

My day was pretty great, I'm not going to lie.

First:
In PE we're doing archery and
I shot an arrow smack dab in the center of the target.
Like, seriously, dead center
It made my day.

Second:
We flew kites in English class
I don't know what else to say, other than it was awesome

Third:
During Young Womens we were going around to
random moms in the ward.
One of the ladies didn't know who we were
so we introduced ourselves.
I'm Caylin, I'm Annika, I'm Shelby Smith,
then our yw leader, I'm Sis Smith.
The lady began to ask if we were related, but
dear Sis Smith jumped in first.
No, oh no, no, no!!!
Let's just say she wasn't eager to claim me as her child..
HAHAHAHAAA totally made my day!!
It was the funniest thing ever :D

Fourth:
I just found out that my best friend Annika
is coming with me to my dads :)
ROAD TRIP
It's going to be a party times 2
and I really can't wait.

Fifth:
After Young Women's me and my friends
hiked up to the water tower
and mostly talked and made fools of ourselves..
It was great,
then we walked back to one of our houses
in the dark.
I love being a teenager :)

Pray for you

One of my favorite songs of all time
by Jaron and the Long Road to Love.
I recommend listening to it, not just reading it.
It'll sound a lot better that way :D

I haven't been to church since I don't remember when
Things were going great til they fell apart again
So I listened to the preacher as he told me what to do
He said you can't go hatin' others who have done wrong to you
Sometimes we get angry but we must not condemn
Let the good Lord do his job, you just pray for them

I pray your brakes go out runnin' down a hill
I pray a flower pot falls from a window sill
And knocks you in the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray you're flyin' high when your engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are, honey, I pray for you

I'm really glad I found my way to church
Cause I'm already feelin' better and I thank God for the words
Yeah, I'm gonna take the high road and do what the preacher told me to do
You keep messin' up, and I'll keep prayin' for you

I pray your tire goes out at 110
I pray you pass out drunk with your best friend
And wake up with his and her tatoos...

I pray your brakes go out runnin' down a hill
I pray a flower pot falls from a window sill
And knocks you on the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray you're flyin' high when you're engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are, near or far
In your house or in your car
Wherever you are, honey, I pray for you
I pray for you

Country living

So I pretty much just love the country.
I'm talking middle of nowhere with
sage brush, cows and coyotes for company.
Oh, and because there are no lights, you can see the stars perfectly.
No joke.

So this one time
there was a huge storm by the Ruby Mountains.
It was a crystal clear night where we were though.
So Bailey, Brock and I sat on the trampoline for a few hours that night
just watching the lightning.
We could see each of the bolts of lightning distinctly,
Thunder crashing, then the bright flash of lightning.
To this day, it is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Another part of country life that I totally love is the animals.
We've had 2 pet ducks, 1 rabbit, 6 snakes :), and about 19 birds.
We rescued the ducklings and the baby bunny from our dog,
saved the baby birds from drowning in the crick
(the nests were built under a bridge... yeah, I don't understand that),
the snakes were just because,
oh and we caught a killer duck once, that was interesting...

Horses,
a major part of country living.
Riding horses is one of the funnest things.
Actually, the reason for this post topic was because Tori took me to see her horse today.
I don't know the last time I rode, but I did today and I had a blast.
Mostly we just walked and ran in circles, but just being with the horses...
Me and Shiloh, the horse Tori let me ride
It reminded me of being at my dad's.
I guess it made me realize how much living in the country is a part of my life.
Experiences I've had, skills I've learned
That's who I am.

Rough day

You could definitely say today was a rough day..
Bre and Kinsey, thanks for being there for me :)

Bre
I called you out of the blue and you let me
come over and watch you clean your room and you kept my mind busy.
Nagini was a bad way to say thanks, but... it was funny
you have to admit, we totally had you going :D
Thanks Bre

Kinsey
You came up with the brilliant idea of Nagini in the window well
and I definitely owe you :)
You kept me distracted throughout the day
and it really means a lot
Thanks

To all my other friends, you are awesome and I'm grateful to have friends like you. You do so much for me and I don't know what I did to deserve you.

Love you guys :)

Time...

Sometimes I think about time.
I've come to the conclusion that time is very weird.
Sometimes it goes slow, like now.
Sometimes it goes by way too fast, like this year.
Even though it's always the same, it's different, ya know??

I look back to when I was younger
and can remember thinking it'd be forever til I could
date or drive or be in high school.
Well, here I am.
I have one year of high school left, I drive like a pro :)
and well, I don't really date... but still.

Pretty soon I'll go off to college. Where, you ask?
Yeah, haven't quite figured that one out yet.
Then I'll get married and have a family...
but that won't be for a while.
I'm getting ahead of myself though.

My point is
time is ongoing and doesn't stop for anything so
it's important to make the best of it.
Have fun and make memories every day.
Live life to the fullest.
I know I do :)

Friends

Friends are what make the world go round
And I am so grateful for my friends.
They inspire me, support me, encourage me and cheer me up. Always and without fail.
I am who I am today because of my friends,
I don't doubt it for a second.

I know I can always be myself around them,
even if every other word I say is sarcastic...
I don't have to watch what I say, or think before I speak.
I don't have to wonder if what I say will offend them.
I say what comes to my mind, and they do too.
My friends have told me that I'm not me without my sarcasm...
I believe them.

Stuff to Know

I am NOT a morning person.

I LOVE hanging with my friends, whether its scary movie nights or eating ice cream from the carton at 10 p.m. outside on the sidewalk...

Sometimes me and my 9 year old brother have competitions to see who can shoot our .22s the best... and sometimes he wins.

Prison Break, Breakout Kings, and Criminal Minds are my favorite tv series to watch with my family.

I read way too much.

I am the oldest of 7 kids, which is why I am so mature and responsible :)

Music is not my strongpoint.

I can't draw, dance or sing to save my life.

I sometimes vandalize my friends' cars with expo markers.

I'm 1/2 Lebanese.

Sunflower seeds are my preferred snack. And chocolate, but I don't count chocolate as a snack, it's more like a food group.

I tease my friends mercilessly and to no end, but they love me anyway.

Diet Coke with Lime, hands down.
